7 years ago, my previous employer gave me a Brenthaven triload computer bag for business travel. For 5 of the 7 years, I traveled internationally about 40% of the time, to places like India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, China, Jordan and Philippines. I guess I probably traveled 200,000 per year. For the past two years, I take four trips to Afghanistan each year. My Brenthaven bag has been stuffed full with books, computer and peripherals, snacks and supplies. Amazingly, the only wear that it shows in on the handle; the bag material and zippers are in perfect condition. This is by far the most durable bag I've ever owned.

My first Brenthaven traveled with me all over the country 50 weeks a year for 14 years on every major and puddle jump airline in the country. It was subjected to the most severe abuse that airline luggage handlers could dream up and still works perfectly. Not a single electronic item carried in all that time was ever damaged. It was well engineered for convenient and safe storage as well as functionality. My Nephew decided he needed it so I now have my second Brenthaved. I was expecting the same design but that has changed and the new one is actually a better size and more functional. I love these cases.

So I was on my way home from a rehearsal the other night. I set my bag down next to my truck, threw the guitar behind the seat, put the amp in the back, and promptly got in the truck and backed up...right over my computer bag! I was so sick I didn't even open it to check, I just drove home first. When I pulled it out, I was expecting it to be in pieces...but there was hardly anything wrong with it, just a crack up the right side of the display (the LCD was fine) and a small dent on the bottom.

I simply have to give Brenthaven two thumbs way up for their outstanding laptop cases --credit they most definitely deserve. I purchased a Brenthavbackpack bag for my 17" Powerbook around 6 years ago. "I was carrying a duffle bag, backpack and my Brenthaven Metro bag 2 weeks ago when I tripped over a break in the sidewalk. I fell, broke my left wrist in 5 places and fell on top of my computer! I went to the hospital and my wrist was indeed in 5 pieces. When I got home with my shattered distal radius, I turned on my computer. It booted up right away with no damage. Last Friday, I sustained a very bad fall that consisted of falling and sliding into an escalator. Suddenly, I found myself being carried upwards in a fetal position. I attempted to get up but fell back. Thanks to the people who were able to get me up and be on my merry way. Throughout the fall, the spikes on the escalator scratched my leather shoe and pants. "I just wanted to write a brief "thank you" note to tell you that I think your laptop bag saved my life. I'm a director, and I was on my way to a huge shoot on Friday morning, December 8th. It was freezing out, so I decided to take a cab. Halfway to the studio, an SUV blew through a red light and plowed head-on into the cab in which I was riding. I was thrown from one side of the cab into the opposite side's door, but when the accident happened, my laptop bag was in my lap. Somehow, when I slammed into the door, the laptop case was between me and the door. It absorbed the brunt of the impact, saving me from a few broken ribs. Today I was getting on the train carrying a large box and my laptop in this case. Well, once I walked up the steps of the train I set the bag down to get a better grip. Other cars were honking at me and I didn't realize what was going on till I looked at my rear view mirror and saw a black bag on the middle of the road. "I flew home to Virginia to visit my family in November on an unusually warm day. My uncle decided to pick me up on his motorcycle for the short trip to his house. This was a horrible idea. I am a clarinet player, and always travel with 2 clarinets. I also had a small bag and of course my iBook in my Brenthaven messenger bag. He strapped a milk crate to the back of his bike with zip ties, and there was no choice but to put my laptop (in a bag) and my suitcase in it. I held my instruments myself. Well, you know where this is going. We were only a mile or so from his house when the zip ties broke sending my stuff tumbling at about 60 miles an hour. The suitcase was ruined and stuff flew everywhere. The milk crate was pretty banged up as well. The Brenthaven bag had seen better days, but was in good shape. When we got to his house, I started up my iBook. No problems. Nothing. Not even a scratch. Thank you for creating such a great product! "

"I was recently in a Rear-end collision which totalled my car. My MacBook Pro was packed neatly in my Brenthaven laptop bag and was launched from the back seat forward where it hit the windshield and fell into the floor of the front passenger seat. "I have recently purchased a Brenthaven Pro 15-17 Backpack. I never comment, cause not much impresses me but I have to say, as a DJ, this bag is a dream. I know you don't market to DJ's who use software like Serato Scratch live, but you seemed to create a bag specifically designed for it!!! First the laptop is exceptionally protected from anything I can throw at my bag. beer, smoke, being kicked around...it protects it from all my hazards. The protection system is rad, I actually trust my laptop in it. Second, I don't know if you meant it, but the file folder holds vinyl records. Seeing that I only need to bring 4 records, two to use all night, and 2 for emergencies, it is perfect and plenty of space to put cords, batteries, iPods, etc... third there is a pocket that holds my scratch live hardware adapter box. So basically this is all I need to carrry if the club has good tables and a good mixer. Plenty of room for everything I need, headphones, vinyl, my MacBook Pro, serato box, cords, and cigarettes and the protection is exquisite. I don't know if you meant it, but you made one happy DJ. I will highly recommend this bag."

"I just want to say I took a huge spill from the top of my stairs with my MacBook Pro. Two flights of stairs straight down to the bottom. Luckily, I had my MacBook Pro in a Brenthaven case. I wish my body was covered in a Brenthaven bag. Ouch! I remember my computer slamming into the door in front of the stairs at extreme force. I couldn't have thrown it harder. I surely thought my computer was done for with that amount of force the computer took into a metal door. I opened it up to my surprise the screen was fine and it worked. It was bent some at the bottom but I never thought it would be alive. If I didn't have it in that Brenthaven bag my computer wouldn't be running allowing me to get my work done."

My MacBook Pro was packed neatly in my Brenthaven laptop bag and was launched from the back seat forward where it hit the windshield and fell into the floor of the front passenger seat. "I have recently purchased a Brenthaven Pro 15-17 Backpack. I never comment, cause not much impresses me but I have to say, as a DJ, this bag is a dream. I know you don't market to DJ's who use software like Serato Scratch live, but you seemed to create a bag specifically designed for it!!! First the laptop is exceptionally protected from anything I can throw at my bag. beer, smoke, being kicked around...it protects it from all my hazards. The protection system is rad, I actually trust my laptop in it. Second, I don't know if you meant it, but the file folder holds vinyl records. Seeing that I only need to bring 4 records, two to use all night, and 2 for emergencies, it is perfect and plenty of space to put cords, batteries, iPods, etc... third there is a pocket that holds my scratch live hardware adapter box. So basically this is all I need to carrry if the club has good tables and a good mixer. Plenty of room for everything I need, headphones, vinyl, my MacBook Pro, serato box, cords, and cigarettes and the protection is exquisite. I don't know if you meant it, but you made one happy DJ. I will highly recommend this bag."

"I just want to say I took a huge spill from the top of my stairs with my MacBook Pro. Two flights of stairs straight down to the bottom. Luckily, I had my MacBook Pro in a Brenthaven case. I wish my body was covered in a Brenthaven bag. Ouch! I remember my computer slamming into the door in front of the stairs at extreme force. I couldn't have thrown it harder. I surely thought my computer was done for with that amount of force the computer took into a metal door. I opened it up to my surprise the screen was fine and it worked. It was bent some at the bottom but I never thought it would be alive. If I didn't have it in that Brenthaven bag my computer wouldn't be running allowing me to get my work done."
