Exactly What I Need
Just got my KONA Project 2 Messenger bag and I am LOVING it. This is an upgrade from my old Mobility 1 Computer Case and oh boy this bag is awesome for everyday commute! I dump everything I need in this bag (4 cellphones, wallet, 14" laptop, 10"tablet, PS Vita, keys and my notes) and I still have extra space for my snacks and water bottle!
PROS: Sturdy material, excellent craftsmanship, nice pick on the colour (black and orange is just awesome), lots of compartments
CONS: None so far except maybe you guys should open a dealership closer to my country (Indonesia) so I can get more of your cases easier :)
I've always loved Brenthaven products since I bought my old Mobility 1 (that was like 10 years ago) and that bag is still awesome, nothing is torn even when I put like 15-20 pounds of stuff into it. (well, some of the thread in the zipper area is starting to come off but that's cause it's like 10 years old). Also, the style never gets old, my Mobility 1 still looks awesome to this day :) Thx for another excellent product Brenthaven. Cheers!
Massive Bag, durable and stylish
I already have a Kona mountain bike, which gets used for city riding a lot as well, I'm kind of sold on that, and I'd owned Brenthaven bags in the past, so I was stoked to see both companies collaborating here. I typically use a shoulder bag that is more for an iPad, but the water resistant nature of the fabric and gear pouch (monsoon season approaching) AND the fact that I needed a bag to tote around a newly purchased laptop pushed me to give this bag a second look.
Pros: magnets on the ends of the flap make the bag snap shut easily. It holds EVERYTHING. Zipper compartments on the flap and outside have good pulls for fingered gloves. Reflective fabric and light (cute, not very bright) for visibility. The extra strap for under the arm pit to keep the bag sliding while riding. Rubberized bag base so it doesn't get wet if you set it on a wet surface.
Cons: Since it holds everything it is HUGE, ridiculously so. I mean it holds a 17" laptop, right? No external elastic pocket for a ball cap (which with helmet hair is essential). Internal pockets are difficult to access if you have it stuffed full. No security features to speak of (latches or toggles). Cumbersome to gain access to internal wallet pouch (fast exits are not possible). Strap clasps can be difficult to get on one-handed.
I roll around town with this bag. It routinely holds:
If this had come in a smaller size, I would have gone for it. That said, this is my in-town go-to bag now.
Everything Stays in it's Place
First time riding with the bag today fully loaded with my 17" MacBook, and it was more stable on my back than with other bags that I have. There was no side to side movement of the computer as I stopped and started, or standing to power up a hill. The bag is very comfortable fully loaded. Everything stays in it's place.
