 | Still Zipping 20 Years LaterI haven't thought about this company in years. You began getting popular when I was a teenager, every kid was begging their parents for one of your backpacks. I got my first Brenthaven backpack my freshman year of high school in 1991...yes I'm getting old. I still have it; this back pack has never let me down. I used it all through high school and college. One of my children had used it in school for a bit as well. It now holds my snowboarding gear and doesn't get used as heavily but none the less it is still in perfect condition with no holes worn through, zippers haven't ever popped open like many do, and I'm sure I will have it for years to come. I would have bought from Brenthaven again but haven't worn out the backpack I have. Now I see there is so much more you offer for sale; a shopping trip is in the making....Thank you Brenthaven, my parents money was well spent! |
 | Great Bags"We handed out Brenthaven Expandable Trek backpacks to all our employees to carry their laptops. One of the bags with laptop, fell down from a fast moving motor bike. The bag took some beating, but the laptop was fine. I have used the Trek and Prolite backpacks. The backpacks are amazing products that securely protect laptops, and have carefully engineered pouches and holders. Waiting for one that adds protection to iPad in a backpack as well." Prem |
 | Nothing Short of Amazing"The customer service of this company is nothing short of amazing. I have three Brenthaven bags. Two have been in heavy use for years. The newest one, a Fusion ballistic nylon computer case, developed a small tear in the seam while traveling this weekend. I completed a repair request, sent a photo, and even though I cannot find my reciept of purchase, the company is sending me a brand new bag. Wow!  | The Last Pack You'll Have To Buy"I have a great story about Brenthaven backpacks. I have had my pack for about 20 years! I actually didn't have to purchase my pack because it was my payment for modeling the pack. (I still have the cardboard picture that was on all the packs). After about 6 years of owning my pack, it got stolen out of my car. I was extremely upset about the B & E but more so about my pack. I reported it to the RCMP and thought it was a loss. Nearly a year later, after moving cities, I get a call from the RCMP stating they have my pack!! Apparently they had a hunch the "new" owner didn't suit the pack as it was "higher end" and "a quality bag." I'm so glad they tracked me down.  | ZERO-IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT, WONDERFUL!"I couldn't find a suitable MacBook case for my MacBook Pro 17" - not even at the Mac stores themselves. There were so many options for smaller laptops, but barely any MacBook cases for the size I needed. A friend purchased the Metrolite for me as a gift and told me I would love it. Well he was right! I love this case for MacBook so much. It's light, functional, comfortable, and durable. (Well the straps ripped after much daily use, but Brenthaven assures me they will fix or replace this the moment I send the bag back in-but it's hard to part with even for a few days!). There's just the right number of zips and pockets to make sure you can carry your essentials without getting too cluttered. I fit my laptop, cords & chargers, phone, iPod, earpiece, wallet, keys, make-up, whatever files/paperwork I need for the day, sunglasses, and dog treats for my pup who comes with me to work. The bag is also sleek and fashionable for what it is - all black and streamlined. The straps can even unbuckle and be tucked away into a back pocket which gives it a super clean look when walking into meetings. There's padding in the back and in the straps which makes it comfortable to carry on long hauls. Inside the padded pocket where you put your laptop is an elastic strap so that if you lay the bag down and forget to zip it up your computer won't slide out -nice touch! The material used in this MacBook case is also great - a synthetic canvas that's easy to keep clean and seems to be waterproof enough (but that's easy to claim living in California).  | 65 MPH IMPACT"I have never submitted a testimonial for any product before in my life, but this story was too much, and left people agape when I told it, even those who I didn't think would sympathize with the near-death of a computer. I put my daughter into her carseat and took off down the road. Five minutes later, once we hit cruising speed on the highway, I heard a rumbling on my roof and looked back to see that my 13" MacBook Pro and MacBook case had flown off the roof and landed in the middle of the lane. This MacBook case has been the most loyal, dependable, trustworthy,confidence inspiring travel companion I've EVER had. It's hustled me from one end of O'Hare to the other catching last minute flights that I would have otherwise missed. It's been my pillow when there wasn't one thanks to the deep back padding. It's been my urban, suburban, country trek companion. Temperature, moisture, shock, torque, nor intense sunlight has ever damaged my bag, nor the assets it has carried. My colleagues are ever amazed when I tell them the age of my MacBook case, yet the only hint of its age comes from the beautiful brass patina shining through the faded zippers. I am incessant elitist. No matter how good of a product I may have in my possession, I will constantly search for one better. Yet since 2001, I have not come across a backpack that has served every need better. I recently threw down on a very expensive Schedoni briefcase in an attempt to to replace you. Yet, my Schedoni sits in my bedroom more as a piece of art rather than my everyday companion. It fits my Nikon D7000 body along with several lenses, and all the things I need for shoots (cleaning kits, cards, card readers, chargers, tripod, etc.) The shoulder sling-which can switch... from L to R in about 2 seconds, is awesome.  | I ONLY WISH MORE COMPANIES WERE LIKE BRENTHAVEN"I could go on and on about how awesome the backpack MacBook case is, and the rigorous pounding I put it though, but the best experience I've had with Brenthaven is with the customer service department. It's become very rare to find a customer service department that is pleasant to deal with, that helps you out with no hassles or problems. Brenthaven is one of those companies that does customer service right. My backpack MacBook case had a minor problem with it, and I contacted customer service to get information on a repair. I had given them an incorrect e-mail address to reach me by mistake, and they actually reached out to me via phone to get the e-mail corrected and tell me that they're shipping me a brand new backpack MacBook case. The backpack MacBook case arrived very quickly and they even encouraged me to give the mostly functional old backpack to a local charity. I can't believe how awesome the experience was. The MacBook case was subjected to the most severe abuse that airline luggage handlers could dream up and still works perfectly. Not a single electronic item carried in all that time was ever damaged.  | YOUR BAG SAVED ME AND MY LAPTOP"I just wanted to write a brief "thank you" note to tell you that I think your MacBook Case saved my life. I'm a director, and I was on my way to a huge shoot on Friday morning, December 8th. It was freezing out, so I decided to take a cab. Halfway to the studio, an SUV blew through a red light and plowed head-on into the cab in which I was riding. I was thrown from one side of the cab into the opposite side's door, but when the accident happened, my MacBook case was in my lap. Somehow, when I slammed into the door, the MacBook Case was between me and the door. It absorbed the brunt of the impact, saving me from a few broken ribs. The driver was less fortunate, but I was able to walk away from the accident with a sore knee and a few bruises. Amazingly, my laptop was unharmed. So your MacBook Case saved both me and my laptop!  | YOUR PROTECTION SYSTEM IS RAD"I have recently purchased a Brenthaven ProStyle Backpack MacBook Case. I never comment, cause not much impresses me but I have to say, as a DJ, this MacBook Pro Case is a dream. I know you don't market to DJ's who use software like Serato Scratch live, but you seemed to create a bag specifically designed for it!!! First the laptop is exceptionally protected from anything I can throw at my MacBook Case. Beer, smoke, being kicked around...it protects it from all my hazards. The protection system is rad, I actually trust my laptop in it. Second, I don't know if you meant it, but the file folder holds vinyl records. Seeing that I only need to bring 4 records, two to use all night, and 2 for emergencies, it is perfect and plenty of space to put cords, batteries, iPods, etc... third there is a pocket that holds my scratch live hardware adapter box. So basically this is all I need to carrry if the club has good tables and a good mixer. Plenty of room for everything I need, headphones, vinyl, my MacBook Pro, serato box, cords, and cigarettes and the protection is exquisite. I don't know if you meant it, but you made one happy DJ. I like that it isn't wide like most other messenger bags - it's narrow and fits on my lap easily on a crowded bus commute - more kudos! I switched from the more burly Booq Boa bag - had almost too many pockets and utility, but at considerably more heft. I purchased a backpack MacBook Case (Metrolite BP-XF), and I carry my laptop back and forth to work daily. The top handle ripped off and I sent it in for repair.  | NOT EVEN A SCRATCH"I flew home to Virginia to visit my family in November on an unusually warm day. My uncle decided to pick me up on his motorcycle for the short trip to his house. This was a horrible idea. I am a clarinet player, and always travel with 2 clarinets. I also had a small bag and of course my iBook in my Brenthaven MacBook Case. He strapped a milk crate to the back of his bike with zip ties, and there was no choice but to put my laptop (in a bag) and my suitcase in it. I held my instruments myself. Well, you know where this is going. We were only a mile or so from his house when the zip ties broke sending my stuff tumbling at about 60 miles an hour. The suitcase was ruined and stuff flew everywhere. The milk crate was pretty banged up as well. The Brenthaven MacBook Case had seen better days, but was in good shape. Last Friday, I sustained a very bad fall that consisted of falling and sliding into an escalator. Suddenly, I found myself being carried upwards in a fetal position.  | ABSOLUTELY NO FAULTSIt is very rare that I can look at a product - any product - years later and find absolutely no faults with it. I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would be emailing the maker of a MacBook Case raving about how amazing it was. But here I am. It was the summer before college was set to begin. I was a 17 year-old kid. Tall, skinny, awkward, but I couldn't have been happier. For years I had wanted a computer of my own. It's sad to think that owning my own laptop was one of the major reasons for even wanting to go to college. I was accepted into the Advertising course at Algonquin College and couldn't wait to get started. To my surprise (and delight) the course outline suggested that we students buy a Macbook Pro. Luckily for me, my parents didn't protest this. Of course I suggested a fully upgraded Pro because, as is common knowledge, if I buy a better computer now, it won't be outdated in a year. Sure I lied, but in my 17 year-old mind it was necessary. I needed those extra .2 ghz over the 2.2 model to reach my fullest potential in school. But i digress.. Soon after receiving the laptop in my very own hands (and I could go on for paragraphs about how I felt at that moment) I knew that I had to treat it right. I knew that one: I needed to be the only one to touch it ever; and two: I needed the best case my meager assets could buy. Now being 17, I was of course drawn to the flashy styles of the other cases. My internal conversations were similar to the following: "Plaid looked sweet." In the end I settled on the Triload II. It wasn't the flashiest. There was no plaid. I wasn't going to be mistaken for the emo kid with pink streaks. I had settled on the right MacBook Case. It was a similar feeling to when I got my Macbook Pro. It just felt completely right. Everything looked like it should. Everything fit like it should. It was perfect. The bag has been with me through College. It survived the daily grind of getting up and driving to school (nearly) every morning. It usually sat in between my feet in class under the desk. It went with me to trips to New York and Toronto. It went to work interviews. I saddled it up to max capacity to do a few lan gaming nights with friends. Every night it sat beside my bed waiting for the next day's adventure. A companion that I used to take for granted until I gave it some thought. This thing has been through it all. I have had no complaints. When the strap started to rip, I emailed customer support, and a new strap was sent, no questions asked. Great customer service I had never (and still have never) experienced before. The thing just worked, and coupled with my love of my Macbook, I believe it helped me keep my laptop running soundly after 4 years. (while at least 4 class-mates have endured broken Macbooks and the subsequent sadness that followed) Well I'm going on and on so here comes the end. It's been through 4 years and has absolutely no wear to speak of. (okay, the new strap is ripping in a few spots. aging gracefully I say) I am through College (less skinny, same height and not awkward anymore. woo!) and into a Graphic Design job at a local newspaper. The bag is sitting here beside me. (it always gets part of my desk space) I just want to thank you guys and gals for the great product. $120 was a minor price to pay for constant use nearly 365 days a year. It's a price that I would definitely be willing to spend when I decide to, because this thing will probably last forever. So enjoy the ugly cellphone pictures. I set my bag down next to my truck, threw the guitar behind the seat, put the amp in the back, and promptly got in the truck and backed up...right over my MacBook Case!
