BRENTHAVEN BAGS ARE TRUCK-PROOF

"So I was on my way home from a rehearsal the other night. I set my bag down next to my truck, threw the guitar behind the seat, put the amp in the back, and promptly got in the truck and backed up...right over my MacBook Case! I was so sick I didn't even open it to check, I just drove home first. When I pulled it out, I was expecting it to be in pieces...but there was hardly anything wrong with it, just a crack up the right side of the display (the LCD was fine) and a small dent on the bottom.

2 WHEEL ACCIDENTS

I bought my Brenthaven backpack back in 03/04 to protect my brand new G4 Powerbook 17". Back then I rode a vintage Vespa to and from work from the outside of Denver to downtown. One day going about 50mph I hit sand downtown and went down hard. I slide on the backpack for about 20ft. I wrecked my
knees pretty bad but my laptop survived without incident and I still can operate this laptop to this day.
Now living in Northwest Ohio and being part of a well know chopper shop I commute everyday on my chop and I still use that same Brenthaven backpack to house my newer Macbook Pro 17" when commuting. While waiting to turn into my drive way I was hit from behind by a motorist who was not paying attention. Needless to say I did not escape without injury and ended up with a broken nose, broken back and broken ribs. This time the Macbook didn't escape without a injury. The screen was shattered and the frame is pretty bent up. Oddly enough when hooked up to an external monitor it still functions.The bag has a couple of freys and a small rip but other than that it still works! All the external hard drives I had in it still work and I was able to save all my data. On top of that I attribute the back pack as helping to soften the blow to my back. The Dr. said the pack most likely stopped my injuries from being much worse, well that and the Macbook pro. When I have the money I will be buying a new Brenthaven backpack for my commutes!

ABSOLUTELY NO FAULTS

It is very rare that I can look at a product - any product - years later and find absolutely no faults with it. I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would be emailing the maker of a MacBook Case raving about how amazing it was. But here I am. It was the summer before college was set to begin. I was a 17 year-old kid. Tall, skinny, awkward, but I couldn't have been happier. For years I had wanted a computer of my own. It's sad to think that owning my own laptop was one of the major reasons for even wanting to go to college. I was accepted into the Advertising course at Algonquin College and couldn't wait to get started. To my surprise (and delight) the course outline suggested that we students buy a Macbook Pro. Luckily for me, my parents didn't protest this. Of course I suggested a fully upgraded Pro because, as is common knowledge, if I buy a better computer now, it won't be outdated in a year. Sure I lied, but in my 17 year-old mind it was necessary. I needed those extra .2 ghz over the 2.2 model to reach my fullest potential in school. But i digress.. Soon after receiving the laptop in my very own hands (and I could go on for paragraphs about how I felt at that moment) I knew that I had to treat it right. I knew that one: I needed to be the only one to touch it ever; and two: I needed the best case my meager assets could buy. Now being 17, I was of course drawn to the flashy styles of the other cases. My internal conversations were similar to the following:

"Plaid looked sweet."
"I could be one of those I-do-what-I-want-and-don't-care-what-you-think, guys and have a pink bag." Thankfully followed by "No, I don't think I could pull that look off"
"How about one more like dad's suitcase?"

In the end I settled on the Triload II. It wasn't the flashiest. There was no plaid. I wasn't going to be mistaken for the emo kid with pink streaks. I had settled on the right MacBook Case. It was a similar feeling to when I got my Macbook Pro. It just felt completely right. Everything looked like it should. Everything fit like it should. It was perfect. The bag has been with me through College. It survived the daily grind of getting up and driving to school (nearly) every morning. It usually sat in between my feet in class under the desk. It went with me to trips to New York and Toronto. It went to work interviews. I saddled it up to max capacity to do a few lan gaming nights with friends. Every night it sat beside my bed waiting for the next day's adventure. A companion that I used to take for granted until I gave it some thought. This thing has been through it all. I have had no complaints. When the strap started to rip, I emailed customer support, and a new strap was sent, no questions asked. Great customer service I had never (and still have never) experienced before. The thing just worked, and coupled with my love of my Macbook, I believe it helped me keep my laptop running soundly after 4 years. (while at least 4 class-mates have endured broken Macbooks and the subsequent sadness that followed) Well I'm going on and on so here comes the end. It's been through 4 years and has absolutely no wear to speak of. (okay, the new strap is ripping in a few spots. aging gracefully I say) I am through College (less skinny, same height and not awkward anymore. woo!) and into a Graphic Design job at a local newspaper. The bag is sitting here beside me. (it always gets part of my desk space) I just want to thank you guys and gals for the great product. $120 was a minor price to pay for constant use nearly 365 days a year. It's a price that I would definitely be willing to spend when I decide to, because this thing will probably last forever. So enjoy the ugly cellphone pictures. I still even have the Brenthaven info slip thing that came with the case.

"The Expandable Trek Backpack that I bought back in November certainly has paid itself off a few times over! Last Friday, I sustained a very bad fall that consisted of falling and sliding into an escalator. Suddenly, I found myself being carried upwards in a fetal position. I attempted to get up but fell back. Thanks to the people who were able to get me up and be on my merry way. Throughout the fall, the spikes on the escalator scratched my leather shoe and pants. "I just wanted to thank you for making a great MacBook Case. I believe I have the Triload. This bag is built very well and very durable!!! Today I was getting on the train carrying a large box and my laptop in this case. Well, once I walked up the steps of the train I set the bag down to get a better grip. Before I knew it, the bag fell down four steps, rolling like it was a wheel, and right off the train. It ended up landing on the platform. Was I worried? Not at all. "I flew home to Virginia to visit my family in November on an unusually warm day. My uncle decided to pick me up on his motorcycle for the short trip to his house. This was a horrible idea. I am a clarinet player, and always travel with 2 clarinets. I also had a small bag and of course my iBook in my Brenthaven MacBook Case. He strapped a milk crate to the back of his bike with zip ties, and there was no choice but to put my laptop (in a bag) and my suitcase in it. I held my instruments myself. Well, you know where this is going. We were only a mile or so from his house when the zip ties broke sending my stuff tumbling at about 60 miles an hour. The suitcase was ruined and stuff flew everywhere. The milk crate was pretty banged up as well. The Brenthaven MacBook Case had seen better days, but was in good shape. When we got to his house, I started up my iBook. No problems. Nothing. Not even a scratch. Thank you for creating such a great product! "

BRENTHAVEN STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS

"My Brenthaven MacBook case is from the mid 1990s and still going strong! I bet I've sold a few hundred of these MacBook cases telling people my story of Brenthaven customer service so....I have a top loader, early model, prior to the handle redesign..and the handles are failing. I live in San Jose, CA, and have to catch a flight the next day to Little Rock. This was when laptops cost a lot of money (6K+), and you can't risk your laptop to any MacBook case less than a Brenthaven.I call the 800 number at Brenthaven customer service. I told them of the failure. They suggested I Fedex the MacBook case to them, but I told them I was leaving the next day. Kelsey, the rep, asked me the address of the hotel I was staying at in Little Rock. I didn't want to risk getting on a plane without my trusty Brenthaven MacBook case even though the handles were on their last leg.I arrive in Little Rock with my laptop and my trusty case. Much to my surprise and delight, there is a brand new top loader "loaner" waiting for me at the front desk, along with a fedex pre-paid mailer for me to return my old MacBook case for repair. When I get back to San Jose, my repaired case was waiting for me! Brenthaven had it repaired within the week and had Fedex'd the MacBook case back to me! So, the moral to the story is...when you buy a Brenthaven, you can be assured that you're set for life with your MacBook case. You get what you pay for, and in the end, a high end case is worth every penny. Brenthaven stands behind their products. And their MacBook cases last."

THIS IS GREAT MARKETING

"I bought a Pro 15 Backpack MacBook case from Brenthaven a few years ago and the MacBook case is still in mint condition! It hasn't lost its shape or color. All the zips are as good as new and internal pockets are intact! From my experience with other brand MacBook cases in the past, I found them to lose their shape and look bad after a short period of time. I read up a lot about good MacBook cases that offer the best protection and found that Brenthaven was coming out on top. I decided to go for the 'Pro 15 inch Backpack' . I have used it constantly now for the past 4/5 years and it is still looking 'as new'. I am delighted with it! So happy was I with the MacBook case that I decided to follow Brenthaven on Facebook. A week after I joined they announced a competition on their page... I commented on their status and won another MacBook case! They allowed me to pick a MacBook case of my choice!!! This is GREAT marketing because I have already mentioned it to loads of friends and family!! HERE'S TO ANOTHER 10 YEARS

"It's been over 10 years since I first purchased your Brenthaven executive backpack. This MacBook case has been the most loyal, dependable, trustworthy,confidence inspiring travel companion I've EVER had. It's hustled me from one end of O'Hare to the other catching last minute flights that I would have otherwise missed. It's been my pillow when there wasn't one thanks to the deep back padding. It's been my urban, suburban, country trek companion. Temperature, moisture, shock, torque, nor intense sunlight has ever damaged my bag, nor the assets it has carried. My colleagues are ever amazed when I tell them the age of my MacBook case, yet the only hint of its age comes from the beautiful brass patina shining through the faded zippers. I am incessant elitist. No matter how good of a product I may have in my possession, I will constantly search for one better. Yet since 2001, I have not come across a backpack that has served every need better. I recently threw down on a very expensive Schedoni briefcase in an attempt to to replace you. Yet, my Schedoni sits in my bedroom more as a piece of art rather than my everyday companion. I was saddened when I learned the executive backpack was discontinued as I would have loved both of my sons to realize the same value that I've experienced in owning this bag. So here's to another 10 years. May you out last every laptop you carry, until there isn't a need to ever carry one . . . ever again."

65 MPH IMPACT

"I have never submitted a testimonial for any product before in my life, but this story was too much, and left people agape when I told it, even those who I didn't think would sympathize with the near-death of a computer. I put my daughter into her carseat and took off down the road. Five minutes later, once we hit cruising speed on the highway, I heard a rumbling on my roof and looked back to see that my 13" MacBook Pro and MacBook case had flown off the roof and landed in the middle of the lane. Anyway, I quickly pulled over and ran down the road to retrieve it. It was unharmed, packed snugly in its Brenthaven MacBook case (not sure which model, from 2006). Based on this performance I plan to get the Armor iPhone case for my first iPhone, and recommend it to the other 4 members on my family plan. Thanks."

ZERO-IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT, WONDERFUL!

"I couldn't find a suitable MacBook case for my MacBook Pro 17" - not even at the Mac stores themselves. There were so many options for smaller laptops, but barely any MacBook cases for the size I needed. A friend purchased the Metrolite for me as a gift and told me I would love it. Well he was right! I love this case for MacBook so much. It's light, functional, comfortable, and durable. (Well the straps ripped after much daily use, but Brenthaven assures me they will fix or replace this the moment I send the bag back in-but it's hard to part with even for a few days!). There's just the right number of zips and pockets to make sure you can carry your essentials without getting too cluttered. I fit my laptop, cords & chargers, phone, iPod, earpiece, wallet, keys, make-up, whatever files/paperwork I need for the day, sunglasses, and dog treats for my pup who comes with me to work. The bag is also sleek and fashionable for what it is - all black and streamlined. The straps can even unbuckle and be tucked away into a back pocket which gives it a super clean look when walking into meetings. There's padding in the back and in the straps which makes it comfortable to carry on long hauls. Inside the padded pocket where you put your laptop is an elastic strap so that if you lay the bag down and forget to zip it up your computer won't slide out -nice touch! The material used in this MacBook case is also great - a synthetic canvas that's easy to keep clean and seems to be waterproof enough (but that's easy to claim living in California). Great daily bag and well worth the money (especially since it's lifetime warranty!) Also, zero-impact on the environment -wonderful! "
